After serving his country for two years, Super Junior’s Heechul will finally be returning to the arms of fans with a date set for his military discharge.
According to SM Entertainment, Heechul will leave his post at the Seongdong District Office on August 30, where he spent the past two years working as a public service worker.
The original date of discharge was August 31 but as it fell on a Saturday, the date was moved forward by a day.
SM Entertainment said that Heechul wishes to end his military service in a quiet manner without fanfare.
It’s uncertain what kind of plans Heechul has once discharged, but fellow member Kyuhyun stated on air that Heechul expressed no desire to take back his spot on MBC’s Radio Star, especially since Kyuhyun is doing a good job on the show.
Heechul enlisted in September of 2011.
