Lee Joon Looks Fierce in Upcoming Film “Rough Play”

Lee Joon looks fierce and conflicted in his new role in an upcoming psychological thriller “Rough Play.”

The recently released teaser video featured Lee Joon playing a character who seemingly goes through psychological turmoil in his acting career. It shows him transforming into different images of himself: angry, miserable, and even conceited. At the end of the clip, we hear Lee Joon’s voice whispering, “I want to go back.”

Even from the short clip, Lee Joon’s acting was commended as exceptionally well executed. His acting has been described “Janus-like,” referring to a Roman god with two faces looking at both the past and the future.

This will mark Lee Joon’s third project in film after his thrilling debut in “Ninja Assassin.” “Rough Play” is set to premiere in October.

MBLAQ’s G.O Spills that Mir Was Jealous of Another Idol

MBLAQ’s G.O reveals that member Mir was jealous of an idol from another boy group.

On September 11, he appeared on MBC’s variety talk show “Radio Star” for the “I Live With That Person” special episode along with Jo Sumi, JK Kim Dong Wook, and Kangta.

MC Kim Gu Ra asked, “Was Mir jealous of Park Hyung Shik after he left the program ‘Real Men’?” G.O answered, “He was jealous at first. However, he started to have fun watching the show as time went on. Park Hyung Shik is just a fun guy.”

MC Yoon Jong Shin commented, “It’s because of Mir that Park Hyung Shik is doing well. MBC has to thank Mir for that” and left the studio with laughter.

Mir was one of the original members for variety program “Real Men.” However, he had to leave and Park Hyung Shik was invited to fill his spot. Park Hyung Shik  is currently being loved by the public for his “baby soldier” character.

Over 160 Idols Including EXO, BEAST, Infinite, miss A, Participate in the 2013 Idol Athletic Championships

It’s that special time of year where hundreds of K-Pop’s hottest idol stars gather together in one big arena to display their athleticism, sportsmanship and hot-blooded young energy!

On September 3, top idol groups such as EXO, BEAST, A Pink, Infinite and ZE:Agathered together to film the “2013 Idol Athletic Championships,” which featured sports such as track and field, archery and mini-soccer.

Hosted by Jeon Hyun Moo, Kim Jae Dong, Defconn and Lee Ki Kwang, the seventh annual Idol Athletic Championships revealed the many different athletic skills that our favorite idols possess.

Around 160 idols participated in this year’s championships including groups likeSuper Junior-M, BEAST, Infinite, MBLAQ, ZE:A, Secret, B.A.P, BTOB, VIXX, Rainbow, Girl’s Day, A Pink, Dal Shabet, Teen Top, Tasty, B1A4, EXO, U-KISS, Crayon Pop, 2AM, miss A, A-JAX, 100% and more.

Idols were divided into four teams for the mini-soccer games. Team A consists of 2AM’s Seulong and Changmin; B1A4′s Jinyoung, Baro and Gongchan;100%’s Sanghoon; A-JAX’s Seung Yup and Goo Ja Myung. Team B consists of EXO’s Luhan, Xiumin, Suho and Baekhyun; Infinite’s Hoya and Woohyun; Tasty’s Soryong; and Shorry J. Team C consists of ZE:A’s Kim Dong Jun, Ha Min Woo, and Kim Tae Heon; U-KISS’ Soohyun and Kiseop; VIXX’s N and Leo, and Son Jin Young. Team D consists of BEAST’s Yoon Doo Joon, Lee Ki Kwang and Yang Yo Seob; BTOB’s Eunkwang; B.A.P’s Bang Yong Guk, Young Jae and Zelo; and Roh Ji Hoon.

At the same time, archery and track competitions were held as well.

Although some idols weren’t able to make it, such as U-KISS’ Dongho, some of the currently busiest idols such as Suzy, Park Hyung Shik, Jung Eun Ji and L attended the event.

Suzy even stood as the representative idol member along with ZE:A’s Kim Dong Jun and read the competition oath in front of her peers. She went on to compete in the archery games as well.

The broadcast date is not set yet but it will definitely air during the Chuseok holiday in Korea so stay tuned on our blog for more information on the “2013 Idol Athletic Championships!”

MBLAQ release ′No Love′ MV

Bringing sweet smiles, the MBLAQ members released their individual photos as well as its music video for No Love

On August 12, J.Tune Camp posted pictures of each member for MBLAQ’s Love Beat. 

The photos showed all the members painting over the dark and charismatic images drawn from Smoky Girlwith a bright, pastel-colored concept that automatically drew smiles. 

The teaser photos are for MBLAQ’s fifth special album titled Love Beat which was created to fill the group’s empty spot for fans as MBLAQ heads off on its global tour. 

Love Beat was released at noon on August 12, with songs written by G.O. 

MBLAQ also released the music video for No Love, showing the behind the scenes of the photoshoot.

Meanwhile, MBLAQ started off its global tour in Mexico on August 8. The members returned to Korea on August 11, but will head out for Nagoya on August 14, followed by concerts in Tokyo and Osaka.

Sandara Park and Thunder Once Again Prove How Close They Are

2NE1’s Sandara Park and MBLAQ’s Thunder again prove how close the two of them are, according to Sports Chosun.

On August 4, Sandara tweeted a photo with the caption, “Thunder came to visit me at the DYLM party. He came even though he’s been practicing late hours for his tour. We are such heart-warming siblings.”

In the picture, the siblings are radiating with bright smiles. They stand close to each other, both with their arms crossed. Their outfits are also matching in the same color!

They’ve earned the nickname of “Bungeobbang Siblings” due to their very similar looks. (Bungeobbang is a term used in Korean to describe people who are very similar to each other.)

Sandara currently anticipates the release of 2NE1’s new song “Do You Love Me,” which comes out on August 7. The DYLM party was to celebrate the completion of the music video filming. Thunder is getting ready for MBLAQ’s first solo concert in Mexico City, “MBLAQ Mexico 2013.”

MBLAQ to Hold Exclusive Concert in Mexico

MBLAQ will be flying out to Mexico for an exclusive concert.

On August 8 (local time), MBLAQ will hold its first concert in Mexico, the MBLAQ Mexico 2013.

The concert will be produced by Arirang TV and the local company Televisa, while the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Contents Agency will sponsor it. MBLAQ will be representative of Korea in an event that aims to foster relations between Korea and Mexico, and the group will stay in the country from August 5-10.

MBLAQ is said to have cemented the status of K-Pop in the region with its charismatic performances and explosive vocals.

Its song Mona Lisa especially topped local charts at the time of its release and stayed on top for a long time, crowning the group the most influential K-Pop group in the region.

The group′s members commented, "We′re a bit tense, but we′re looking forward to landing in Mexico for the first time. We have good memories of our visits to Brazil, Peru and Chile thanks to the local fans. We′ll do our best to show everything we have for our fans in Mexico, and we′ll work hard to help cultural exchanges between Korea and Mexico."

MBLAQ will soon release its repackage album Love Beat in Korea on August 12.

MBLAQ Heads to Mexico and Japan in August

MBLAQ turns to a new chapter in their activities this year.

From August 5, they will be flying to Mexico to officially begin their international tour.

They are scheduled to have a concert of considerable scale on August 8 in Mexico City Pepsi Center. A Latin Grammy-winning Mexican band Reik will be joining them on stage as special guest. Following the concert, MBLAQ will be featured in a music program aired on Televisa.

After they wrap up their activities in Mexico until August 11, MBLAQ will head to Japan. They will be hitting Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya during their tour in Japan, using ZEPP concert halls. Further plans are still under negotiation with local management companies.

MBLAQ is signaling their foray into the Latin music industry as they start their international activities in Mexico. The group received “love calls” from several different countries, including Brazil, Chile, and Peru, but Mexico became their final decision as their first destination in South America. MBLAQ marks the second K-Pop star to have performed in Mexico, after Kim Junsu.

Their activities had run into logistical issues in Japan this past year, halting further concerts in the country. MBLAQ is now back, more than ready to show fans in Japan what they have in store. They already have an illustrious beginning having reached #1 in Japan’s Oricon charts upon their debut.

President Park Geun Hye surprises Super Junior, SNSD, 2PM, SISTAR and others at Beijing concert

On June 28, Korea-China Friendship Concert was attended by top Kpop idols such as Super Junior, Girls Generation, 2PM, SISTAR, EXO, Teen Top, MBLAQ and others in Beijing.

South Korea's President Park Geun Hye appeared as a surprised guest and watched the concert. It didn't end in there, as the idols were on their waiting rooms, the president arrived and greet each one of them and thanked them for spreading Korean wave. Though surprised, the idols are honored to have the opportunity to take photos with their president.

MBLAQ′s Lee Joon Explains He′s Not In a Relationship with 4minute′s Hyuna

Lee Joon cleared up rumors that tied him and 4minute′s Hyuna together.
The singer spoke up on the June 25 broadcast of SBS′ Hwashin.

When asked about his rumors with Hyuna, Lee Joon said, "Is it okay to say the real names like this? I know about this rumor too."

MC Bong Tae Gyu added to the question, "There are rumors that some people saw you close together with Hyuna on a plane. Your agencies said you were filming the music video for Bubble Pop, but the music video didn′t have any scenes on a plane."

Lee Joon answered, "It is true I sat with Hyuna on the plane. It would′ve been weird to sit separately when we′re friends."

Lee Hyori said, "I always sit separately. Even if the business area is empty, I almost always sit separately because it′s uncomfortable [to sit close]."

Miranda Kerr and MBLAQ Lee Joon’s Appearance on SNL Korea

As we reported before, Miranda Kerr appeared on the June 15 broadcast of tvN’s “SNL Korea.” This broadcast of “SNL Korea” was hosted by the actor Lee Bum Soo. The former Victoria’s Secret model appeared in a skit that was a parody of OnStyle’s “Project Runway Korea.” MBLAQ’s Lee Joon made an appearance.

For the parody, Miranda Kerr appeared as a guest that needed to have a dress designed for an advertisement appearance. Lee Joon appears on the show as a strange ballerina designer. At the end of the skit Lee Bum Soo appears dressed up as Legolas from the film “Lord of the Rings.” (This is a hat tip to Miranda Kerr’s husband Orlando Bloom that appeared as Legolas)

In the end, Lee Bum Soo was announced the winner of the parody.

2NE1’s Sandara Prepares Food for Sibling Thunder

There are a few handful of celebrity siblings in the K-Pop world, and it’s great to see them interact on stage or collaborate in magazine pictorials, but it’s a little more difficult, for some reason, to see how they would interact in their daily life.

On June 14, 2NE1’s Sandara Park posted a long story on her Twitter made up of several posts. “I woke up a little bit earlier, but mom was already out and [MBLAQ's] Thunder came home all of a sudden. He’s a cat who just had a dry rehearsal, and said that he has to eat real quick and leave… hmm.. I don’t cook well, but I prepared food!!! The menu is~ fried egs!!! ^.*V”

She continued, “However!!! Thunder asked with worry, “You want to make me one with the egg shells again?” Huk… It’s because I made fried eggs before in the past when a little bit of the egg shell went in.. ^^::::: That was a mistake and this time it was from the heart!!! ^_^ And as a bonus, I added Vienna sausages!”

Sandara went on, “I also added side dishes that mom previously made, which help make my meal complete!!! Thunder asked me two questions. “Did you not put salt in the eggs..?” @.@ “Is this fully cooked?” Hahaha. He’s suspicious. keke. However, he ate it all without leaving a grain of rice! ^_^V”

Her last post included a picture of the meal. “This is the meal nuna made for her younger brother, who greatly missed home-cooked meals. MBLAQ’s Thunder and Mir Talk about Their Sisters′ Beauty

Known to have pretty older sisters, MBLAQ’s Cheon Dung and Mir talked about 2NE1’s Sandara Park and actress Go Eun A.

On June 10, MBLAQ appeared as guests on Mnet’s The Beatles Code, where Cheon Dung and Mir were asked about their famous older sisters.

The two MBLAQ members were asked to honestly rate their sisters’ beauty, and Cheon Dung shared that he currently lives with his family.

“When I see her at home, I don’t really think that she’s pretty, but when I see her amongst other celebrities, she becomes very pretty,” said Cheon Dung, making the MCs joke that it must be because all the other celebrities are drop-dead ugly. Cheon Dunq quickly said, “Even though she’s surrounded by very pretty people, my sister looked really beautiful.”

In complete contrast to Cheon Dung’s praises towards Sandara Park, Mir was straightforward and direct, saying, “My sister is the worst of the worst.”
