On September 11, the training base’s official web cafe uploaded group photos that contained images of Song Joong Ki. He is sporting his military uniform and looks slightly thinner but still sports a smile. Rather than his usual soft image, a more manlier feeling seems to be coming from him.

Song Joong Ki has been reported to have adjusted well to his newly started military life. Reports say that his officers and higher ranking soldiers are praising Song Joong Ki for his hard-working and positive attitude.

Song Joong Ki enlisted in the army and started his basic training on August 27. His training will end on October 10, which is when he will be transferred to his official post. Song Joong Ki’s tentative discharge date is May 26, 2015.

Update on Song Joong Ki Since Entering Military Service

The 22nd Recruit Training Battalion revealed some latest news on Song Joong Ki.

On September 10, a high official in the 22nd Recruit Training Battalion shared, “Song Joong Ki is receiving a lot of praise from his recruit division. He’s adjusting well and is getting along very well with his fellow recruits. He has a sincere and easygoing personality, but I heard that he hasn’t complained even though the training is difficult.”

Song Joong Ki enlisted for military service on August 27 and immediately started his mandatory basic military training in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do before being assigned to a unit as an active soldier. Song Joong Ki Helped a Family in Need Before Enlistment

Doing one last good deed before leaving for the army, Song Joong Ki participated in a special project to help a family in need.

A video was uploaded on August 26, highlighting a special project that was planned in secret to help out a young teenage girl, who worked hard to keep her family together despite hardships that occurred one after another. 

With her father having passed away, the girl′s older brother works away from home, while she takes care of her alcoholic mother and young brother who suffers from a mental illness. In the midst of all that, their home was burned to the ground due to an unknown reason. 

Through the organization of Coupang, where Song Joong Ki serves as a model, the actor and countless others were able to gift the family with a sturdy and much-needed place to live with everything provided, moving the girl and her family. The project took 45 days, 135 volunteers, and more than 1,200 sponsors to make possible. 

The company hoped that this project will continue until everyone can live well together.

Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki enlisted in the army on August 27.

Song Joong Ki Starts Military Service Today

Actor Song Joong Ki is leaving fans for 21 months as he starts his mandatory military service today. He said his goodbye to his fans and the press before he entered the 102th unit at Chuncheon, Gangwon-do. He will receive four weeks of basic military training and then officially start his active duty.

The actor spent the night before with his family who had traveled up to Seoul from his hometown Daejeon. Fans from all over Asia flocked to say goodbye to Song Joong Ki today, and he greeted his fans with a smile, taking off his cap to speak to the fans and press. Song Joong Ki to Enlist in the Army in August

Get the tissues ready because another heartthrob is leaving us for the next two years. 

On August 1, Song Joong Ki’s agency, Blossom Entertainment, officially announced that Song Joong Ki has been called by the nation to serve his 2-year mandatory army service. 

He will be the first celebrity to head to the army since the PR unit has been shut down after much controversy. 

Song Joong Ki will be headed to 102nd Reserves located in Chuncheon where he will receive basic training for active service.
