Taylor Swift spent the last week of August performing her hits old and new at the Staples Center and she brought with her some very special guests. She and Jennifer Lopez sang "Jenny from the Block" for her last show, Ellie Goulding came out for "Lights" one night, Tegan and Sara belted "Closer" with her, and more.

The first photo with American Idol's new judges

Check out the first official photo of this season’s American Idol judges – Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick, Jr., and Keith Urban, taking their seats at their table.
The singing show’s thirteenth season saw the return of Keith and the welcome back of Jennifer, who was a previous judge on the show. Harry is a brand new judge this season.
Ryan Seacrest will return as host, with former judge Randy Jackson acting as a mentor.
American Idol‘s auditions for this season began earlier this week in Boston, Mass.
The new season is set to debut in January of 2014.

Here’s what the 44-year-old entertainer and returning American Idol judge had to share with the mag:
On her relationship with Casper Smart: “For me, it’s about having a great partner to walk this life with. I have my own high standards for what I want in a partner and how I want to be treated. I bring a lot to the table. I’m not talking about material things but what I have to offer as a person – love and loyalty and all the things that make a good relationship.”
On admitting her appearance at the birthday party of the president of Turkmenistan earlier this year was a mistake: “I know that being seen as a role model means taking responsibility for all my actions. I am human, and of course, sometimes I make mistakes. But I promise that when I fall, I get back up. When I am wrong, I will learn the lesson and move on to face other challenges. For me, that’s what creating your own life is. Doing your best work while being your best self.”
On not feeling secure about herself until later in life: “It was after I had kids to be honest…The biggest insecurity I had was my singing. Even though I had sold 70 million records, there was this feeling like, I’m not good at this. And while I was married to Marc, he helped me get over it. He kept telling me, ‘You’re the only one holding yourself back from reaching your full potential as a singer. You have to let go’…I was always so insecure and just kind of going along. Then I grew, little by little, and realized, wait a minute, this is not a fluke. I’m not a mistake – I work my ass off. And I know what I’m doing.”

Jennifer Lopez joins Taylor Swift on her Red tour in Los Angeles

Taylor Swift hits the stage with her special guest Jennifer Lopez for a surprise performance during her Red Tour concert on Saturday night (August 24) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The 23-year-old singer and the 44-year-old American Idol judge took on the latter’s classic hit “Jenny from the Block.”
“You know how you have your favorite song that you just play over and over in your room?” Taylor asked the crowd before introducing J.Lo. “And you sing it in front of a mirror into a hairbrush? Los Angeles, this is my hairbrush song.”

Jennifer Lopez is returning as judge on American Idol

Jennifer Lopez is returning as a judge for the upcoming thirteenth season of the hit show American Idol, sources confirm to Us Weekly.
The 44-year-old entertainer will be joined on the panel by fellow judge Keith Urban, who also just signed on to return.
Jennifer was absent from the panel this past season, but was a judge for the two previous seasons in 2011 and 2012.

Jennifer Lopez performs and wins at the Premios Juventud Awards while Marc Anthony performs too

Following their painful divorce in 2011, both Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez went on to find happiness shortly after with much young partners.
So perhaps it was a case of battle of exes on Thursday, as J.Lo, 43, and Marc, 44, took to the stage separately to perform at the Premios Juventud 2013 - said to be the Spanish version of the People's Choice Awards.
Joining them at the event were their respective love interests, Casper Smart, 26, and Chloe Green, 22 - in her first official red carpet outing with Marc.

Taking some time away from her tour, Jennifer Lopez graced the cover of W magazine's August 2013 issue.
While donning a gorgeous Gucci gown for the Mario Sorrenti-shot spread, the "Ain't It Funny" songstress opened up about her love for dance and her first time in Los Angeles.
On her fallout with her mother over dance: "My mom and I butted heads. I didn't want to go to college - I wanted to try dance full-time. So she and I had a break. I started sleeping on the sofa in the dance studio. I was homeless, but I told her, 'This is what I have to do.' A few months later, I landed a job dancing in Europe. When I got back, I booked 'In Living Color.' I became a Fly Girl and moved to L.A. It all happened in a year."
On her first impression of L.A.:
"I hated L.A. I was asking,'Where's the store for milk? Don't you guys walk on the street?' Now I love Los Angeles, but it doesn't give me strength the way the Bronx did. All the strength that I needed for life, I got from that neighborhood."
On parenting:
"I think a lot about teaching my kids to work hard. I've learned something about kids - they don't do what you say; they do what you do. I watched my parents. My dad worked nights, and I was aware of how much he was doing for us. My mom was a Tupperware lady and also worked at the school. I always felt that I couldn't let them down. And I had a natural discipline from early on. I was always training for something."
On her parents while growing up:

The singer took the tots for a beach day in Malibu along with her own toy boy, Casper Smart.
Five year old twins Max and Emme, whose father is Marc, looked delighted as they headed for the family day out on the sand.
