The Australian actress deftly pushed the conventions of fashion to the limit when she arrived to the screening of her movie Blue Jasmine at the Deauville Film Festival in France on Saturday.
Cate confidently stepped in front of the cameras in a trailing black A-line frock that was in itself an optical illusion, featuring a consistent circle pattern that may have been inspired from an astrological sign chart.
She also picked up a trophy as an homage to her illustrious career, along with actors John Travolta and Nicolas Cage and producer Gale Anne Hurd.
