Stephen Moyer and Carrie Underwood will star in NBC's Sound of Music

Stacking up the cast list with another big name, NBC announced Friday (August 23) that Stephen Moyer will star in its “Sound of Music” special.
The “True Blood” actor will star opposite Carrie Underwood in the three-hour live production, which airs on December 5.

Moyer will portray Capt. Georg Von Trapp, the single father of seven children, while Underwood plays Maria, the nanny.
Stephen recently wrapped up another stage production at the Hollywood Bowl, playing Billy Flynn in the musical “Chicago.”
